Okanagan Handmade Chocolates

My Story

I got my start as an apprentice for a well-known pastry and confiserie shop in East Germany. I attended culinary school at the renowned Handwerkskammer zu Chemnitz, where I got my Masters in Pastry. I traveled the world and worked at 5-star restaurants and hotels in Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Germany, all while honing my technique for chocolate making. In that time I also earned my Red Seal as a Chef, and as a Pastry Chef.

When I moved to the Okanagan, I was inspired by the bounty of fresh fruit and berries found here. I wanted to create a new kind of chocolate, one that marries traditional German technique with bold, exciting New World flavours. From that passion, For The Love Of Schocolat was born. Schocolat is a combination of Chocolate and Schokolade (the German word for chocolate) and represents the blend of German and Canadian that I use to make my truffles.
